Our proposal for the Market Street Competition reimagines the corridor as a balanced space between mobility and public life. Autonomous vehicles and streetcars operate in a shared central lane, reducing congestion and freeing space for wider sidewalks, bike lanes, and active edges. The main corridor becomes a living forest, where vegetation, shade, and public spaces merge to create a new urban ecosystem. This design transforms the street into a continuous civic landscape where pedestrians, cyclists, and restaurants coexist—turning a transit artery into a vibrant, human-centered experience.
